Wings of The Centipede | Chapter 4

Sunside decided to use her powers to break through the tree. She was pretty sure it was a red oak. Since Tommy the Evil Spyglass rose, there were lots of trees around that weren’t usually there. She uses a wayward heat beam to blast the tree.

Seaweed sighed and said “I think we should go and talk to the scavenger and centipede”.

I sigh and randomly start singing the lyrics to “I Think Too Much” by Christian French, a song I learnt in a SandWing oasis.

🎵 Sometimes, I think, I think too much
Can’t stop, my thoughts come all at once
Maybe I’m crazy, maybe who knows
Could’ve been easy all along
But sometimes, I think, I think too much
I think, I think I’m
Searching for answers high and low
I kinda can’t stand the usual, oh-oh
I’m certain there’s something more that I don’t know
And I don’t know
But this isn’t what I want
Questioning things I can’t control
Finding my youth’s been getting old
Losing myself when nothing’s wrong
But who knows if
Sometimes, I think, I think too much
Can’t stop, my thoughts come all at once
Maybe I’m crazy, maybe who knows
Could’ve been easy all along
But sometimes, I think, I think too much
I think, I think I’m
Summin’ up life in photographs
I’ll say I’m alright when someone asks me
If I’m happy
But something ain’t right, there’s always more than that
There’s more than that
I just haven’t found the air
Still I’m
Questioning things I can’t control
Finding my youth’s been getting old
Losing myself when nothing’s wrong
But who knows if –🎵

K screams “SHUT THE HECK UP!” because he could hear the singing all the way from the road.

Sunside hears a song when she climbs out of the hole. When K screams, she looks up and sees two dragons in a cave.

Blackbird sings louder:

🎵 Stumble in, fight the spin
If you don’t, you’re falling on your face again
Tumble down, roll around
And you know that everything is moving now
Lately I, can’t decide, run or hide
Oh and when I do, I’m sure I’ll end up moving too
A suit and tie, sell or buy, laugh or cry
What’s a guy to do, when nothing’s standing still for you
So many angles, so many lines
So many ways to see the sunrise
Everything moves, everything pulses
Everything lies in the eyes of you
Everything moves, everything pulses
Everything lies in the eyes of you
Everything lies in the eyes of you
In the eyes of you, in the eyes of you
Ramble on, chug along
And if the beat stops thumping man then something’s wrong
Ignore it son, it’s just a song
But I can see your white-knuckled hand from holding on
So lately I, wonder why, we rely, on the sure thing
It’s too damn comforting
Stay alive, overdrive, ’til we find, something new
To keep the pulse alive in you
So many angles, so many lines
So many ways to see the sunrise
Everything moves, everything* 🎵

K screams “I will personally kill you!” in response to the song.

“What in the world is going on here?” Sunside asks.

“My weirdo friend is singing my least favourite song on Earth!” said K.

Seaweed sat back to enjoy the singing.
