This team of senior editors will review and revise work submitted by younger learners before publishing it on virtualschoolpaper.com
This platform is for learners who want to build a resume around working collaboratively on a media project. There are many mediums to explore, as submissions are open ended and always changing. You will build skills in:
– executing effective online peer meetings
– dividing projects fairly
– working with deadlines
– communicating roles and responsibilities with each team member
– setting goals
– technical editing
– proof reading
-providing constructive feedback
We will edit for grammar, clarity and presentation.
Submissions for editing may include articles, poems, recipes, photos, interviews, etc.
Week 1- Intros, networking an goal setting
Week 2- Receive submissions. Determine roles, goals and timeline.
Week 3 – Share edits, and provide feedback to each other and submitter.
Week 4- Receive submissions. Determine roles, goals and timeline. Publish week 2 submissions.
Week 5-Share edits, and provide feedback to each other and submitter.
Week 6-Receive submissions. Determine roles, goals and timeline. Publish week 4 submissions.
Week 7-Share edits, and provide feedback to each other and submitter.
Week 8- Publish week 6 submissions and closing circle
We will do three rounds of publishing with opportunities for feedback at each stage, so we can become familiar with the process and grow our skills week-to-week. This gives us opportunity to notice and harness each other’s strengths, and to learn from our mistakes.
